It is the product of the mutual integration of the tourism industry and the wellness industry. Its primary aim is to meet people’s demand of health. At present, whether at abroad or at home, the study for wellness tourism is far from comprehensive. According to the research situation, it shows the achievement and stresses the importance of health in both body and mind. Also it demonstrates there is a long way to go in the aspect of the clear definition, operational planning, marketing and products design of wellness tourism. This paper discusses some basic problems about wellness and wellness tourism. In the microscopic level, it aims to obtain a sound mind and body; in the macroscopic level, wellness is wellness preserving in culture. Wellness tourism is a senior tourism pattern, it follows the ideas of wellness in Chinese tradition and modern times, by way of developing activities of wellness, it meets people ’s demanding for a sound mind and body and a better social adjustment. Furthermore, it gives an analysis on the resources, products, and marketing of wellness tourism.
