T his research, from a new starting point, based on five dimensions of changes, which are from knowledge education to cultural quality educa tion, from teaching center to the unity of teaching and research, from the management and education to cultural education, from the idea of only teaching and educating people to the three pillars of the science,research, and production, and from focusing only on providing education domestically to pro moting internationalization, looks back on the concept changes and the development path of Chinas u niversities in three decades of reforming and opening up. Then,we will explore the development expe rience leaps and bounds of Chinas higher education and gain contemporary enlightenment from the de velopment course of the idea of the university.
