By analysis of the test results of 124 short concrete fille steel tube columns subjecte to centric axial compressive loa s, the relationship between an the confinement in ex an yiel strength of steel tube is establishe an a formula for calculating the centric compressive strength of short concrete fille steel tube columns is propose . The factor is intro uce in the formula an the function of steel tube is reflecte . The calculating results have goo agreement with the test results.
