Abstract Mineral resources are the important part of natural resources ，the important guarantee for the human society survival and development and the important material basis for national economic and social development. However, Chinese per capita of some major minerals is less than per capita in the world because of the large population. Mineral resources have great pressure due to unreasonable utilization, the population and the economic development. With the rapid increase of national economy, the problem of shortage mineral resources got more obvious, which had affected our strategic target of constructing a well －off society in all round －way. Therefore how to protect national mineral resources and how to relieve the mineral resources shortage became an important problem with which we had to be confronted. The dissertation in a large number of domestic and foreign mineral resources on safety and security measures on the basis of documentation, explain the scientific connotation of mineral resources and security of mineral resources, it analyze the present the risk source of our country metal mineral resource.
