Thethumbfingerhasfouripintsincludingthreecurling/extensionjpintsanda1ointwhichisusedtorealizethemotionofthethumb relatedtothepalm,andtheseipintsarealsodrivenbyoneDCmotor,harmonicdriveandatendon.Theunderactuationandadaptive curling/extensionmotionofthefingerarerealizedbyjointtorsionsprings.Ahigh—poweredchipofdigitalsignalprocessing(DSP)is themainpartoftheelectricalsystem whichisusedforthemotorscontro1.datacollection.communicationwithexterna1controlling source.andsoon.Toimprovethereliabilityofthehand.structuresandsensorsaredesignedandmadeassimplyaspossible.The handhasstrongmanipulationcapabilitiesthathavebeenverifiedbyfingermotionandgraspingtestsanditcansatisfythedaily operationalneedsandpsychologicalneedsofdefourt ities.
