Compared to the [PCP] and [SCS] analogues, [NCN] pincers have attracted much attention in recent years. In this paper, we have synthesized the ligands, 4, 6dimethyl1, 3bis (Narylimino)benzenes from the staring material mxylene after several transformations. Treatment of these ligands with palladium acetate (II) in anhydrous acetic acid and followed by lithium chloride resulted in the corresponding[NCN] palladium (II) pincer, i.e., 3, 5dimethyl2, 6bis(Narylimino)isophthalaldimin2yl palladium(II) chloride in moderate yields. In addition, such reaction condition was also suitable for 5 nitro and 5tertbutyl bisimines ligands. All of these ligands and their corresponding pincers were fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR. The catalytic eff
