The velocities are clearly dependent of the structure and showed clear anisotropy. The distribution of velocity strongly depended on the wave propagation direction and the position in the cylindrical bone. An apparent correlation was found between the densities and velocities. In some parts of the femurs, velocities showed different degrees of anisotropy due to the position in the cylindrical bone, in spite of the similar microstructure and densities.
