Syllabus of Applied Electrochemistry of CCE of HHU I Course Name Serial Number Serial Number：3331204012 Name： Applied Electrochemistry (bilingual) II Course Time Credits Teaching hours：3h Credits：2：Chemistry（undergraduate）：Properties, Aim Duty of the Course Applied Electrochemistry is a course which employing the basic principles of electrochemistry to solve the real problems in science research as well as manufacturing area which involved electrochemistry, e.g. metal corrosion, electro-deposition and electrochemical power sources. It is not now the province of academics interested only in measuring thermodynamic properties of solutions or of industrialists using electrolysis or manufacturing batteries, with a huge gulf between them. This has enabled many studies of a fundamental and applied nature to be carried out. The aim for this course is twofold. First is to show the all-pervasive and interd- isciplinary nature of electrochemistry, and particularly of electrode reactions, through a description of modern electrochemistry. Secondly is to show to the student and the non- specialist that this subject is not separated from the rest of chemistry, and how he or she can use it. The students should be trained to analyze and solve the real electro- chemistry problems employing basic knowledge and principle after the course. Then the duty of the course is systematically training the students with electro- chemistry principles and experimental knowledge and their application in science research, life and industry. Also, as a bilingual course, one of the most important purposes is to strengthen the students’ special English ability by tasks of literature reading, course paper preparing and oral presentation.
