教員の職務実態からする「複数担任学級」の意義と効果 －参与観察調査、質問紙調査による「少人数教育」の検討（２） 堀内孜・大林正史*・田中真秀**・浅田昇平***・国祐道広**** Significance and effects of ‘Two teachers’class’through the actual conditions of teachers work - consideration of ‘Education with the low student to teacher ratio ’ by participatory field work and questionnaire (2) Tsutomu HORIUCHI, Masafumi OBAYASHI, Maho TANAKA, Shouhei ASADA, Michihiro KUNISUKE Accepted May 9, 2009 抄録：本研究は、「少人数教育」としての「複数担任制」について参与観察調査とその児童・保 護者への質問紙調査、そして担任教員に対するインタヴュー調査からその意義と効果を明らか にすることを目的としている。調査結果の分析から、次に示す知見が得られた。①副担任教員 の存在は、何よりも児童の多面的なケアに効果が認められ、とりわけ事例学級たる１年生にと っては必ず教室に教員がいる状況に意味がある。②授業展開において、副担任教員は個別指導 や机間巡視等、補助教員としての機能を有効に果たしており、１年生の学習習慣の定着に大き な効果が認められた。③個々の児童へのケアや教科指導だけではなく、採点やノート点検等の 教務事務、また教材準備や教室整備等の役割を分担し、広く学級経営の改善に役立っている。 本論は加えて「少人数学級」と「複数担任学級」の比較も含めて、少人数教育を費用効果の点 からも検討し、今後の政策設定の在り方を示唆した。 牽引語：少人数教育、複数担任学級、学級編制、参与観察調査 Abstract: This study aims to examine the significance and effects of two teachers’class as a part of system of ‘Education with the low student to teacher ratio ’. Through participatory field work, questionnaires to children and their parents, and interviews to classroom teachers, the following findings were gained.ⅰ) The effect of the second classroom teacher is remarkable to take care of children in many matters. In particular, it is meaningful that any teacher can always stay in a classroom for 1st grade children. ⅱ) The second classroom teacher can play the role of an assistant teacher effectively in personal instruction and circulating among children. Therefore it can be recognized that this system has much effect to establish study habit among 1st grade children. ⅲ) Two teachers share the role of not only care of children and subjects teaching but also some other office work like marking, checking notebooks, preparing teaching matters and classroom maintenance.
