M ethods: The separation w as carried out on aD ikma D iamonsil C ( 250 mm @ 416 mm, 5 Lm) column. The mob ile phase w as aceton itrile- 0105% phos- 18 phoric acid solutionw ith grad ient elution and changeablew avelength detection( 0- 30 m in, 240 nm for gen ipin gen- tiobioside and gen iposide; 30- 50 m in, 440 nm for crocin- 1 and crocin- 2). Results: Gen iposide reached 12% in Fructus G ardeniae of green fru it stage, and had no crocin. Crocin- 1 reached 111% in redm ature stage, and the ge- n iposide decreased to 3% - 5%. G eniposide and crocin mainly distributed in flesh, gen ip in gentiob ioside mainly distributed in seed, and they had little in peel relatively. C
