Methods Tw o hundred and f fty- s x pat ents w th melasma w ere treated w th oral adm n strat on of tranexam c ac d us ng low er dosage over a long term. T he treatment per od w as 6~ 15 months ( mean 9 . 6 months) . A retrospect ve study w as made on the therapeut c eff ect and safety. Results T he pat ents w ere follow ed for 3~ 6 months after treatment . T he total mprovement rate w as 80 . 9% . M any pat ents ( 65. 0 %) show ed cl n cal eff ect at the second months of treatment , how ever 35 . 0 % show ed an effect n the f rst month of treatment .
