The Study of Ancient Medical Literature on the attending application of Taichong (LR3) Acupoint Speciality: Acupuncture and Moxibustion Author: Wang Wenqin Tutor: Zhang Yongchen Abstract Objective: Through the study of ancient literature about the suitable diseases that Tai chong (LR3) Acupoint can cure and application and scientific rearch by summarizing and analyzing to provid theoretical and practical basis for spectum of diseases that Taichong can cure. Summary the law of Taichong acupoints of application including acupuncture and moxibustion, the operational methords and the needle theory that are referred. Methods: Taking Encyclopaedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine as information retrieval source, the diseases that TaiChong can cure about acupuncture and moxibustion were retrieved. Using the Mircrosoft Office Excel Form to process data and create databases. The disease Taichong can cure classified and statisted. Summarized the law on the operational methods and compatibility of the Taichong acupoint used. Results: There were 1210 clauses about the attending application of Taichong acupoint.There were 752 clauses about 87 books left after sifting the ancient medical literature.689 clauses were related to the descriptions involving Taichong acupoint. There are 105 kinds of diseases suitable for applying the Taichong and 167 acupoints are used. Conclusion①From the view of frequency, the top 10 treatment of diseases are: arthralgia, chest arthralgia, abdominal pain, blood disease, consumption,jaundice,spasm syndrome,edema,backache and stroke.②The top three treatment of medical illness by taichong in single from frequency are: cough, jaundice, epilep
