The TCM syndrome survey of 270 cases from 7 to 12-year-old children with simple obesity Speciality: Pediatrics of TCM Author:Zhao Xiaojun Tutor: Associate Professor Zhang Guiju Abstract Objectives: Analysis of 7 to 12-year-old child simple obesity disease history, symptoms and signs, to explore traditional Chinese medicine symptom distribution, in order to guide clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: The epidemiological investigation methods, we selected 487 cases of obese children, issuance of obese children questionnaire,and use SPSS19.0 software to qualified 270 questionnaire data for statistical analysis,according to syndrome differentiation standard of syndrome type of traditional Chinese medicine distribution. Results: The distribution of TCM syndromes of 7 to 12-year-old children with simple obesity as follows:the Gastric-Fever and Dampness-Stagnation syndrome (173 cases, accounting for 64.1%),the Spleen-Deficiency and Dampness-Stagnation syndrome(52 cases, accounting for 19.3%),Liver-qi stagnation syndrome(19 cases, accounting for 7%), the Spleen-Kidney Deficiency syndrome(26 cases, accounting for 9.6%). Conclusions: The most common syndromes of 7 to 12-year-old children with simple obesity are:the Gastric-Fever and Dampness-Stagnation syndrome,the Spleen-Deficiency and Dampness-Stagnation syndrome,Liver-qi stagnation syndrome and the Spleen-Kidney Deficiency syndrome;The most common symptoms and signs as follows:obesity,eating cold,sweat more,mouth odor,moving the shortness of breath,feverish palms and soles,dry stool,Consumers Valley Bulimia;Syndrome types are influenced obviously by childrens food preferences.
