The clinical study of the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures with PFNA Speciality: Orthopaedics of TCM Author:Lin WeiPing Tutor:Zhang JunZhong Prof. Zhang Abstracts Topics purpose: The aim of the study is evaluating the therapeutic effect of the proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) system in patients with intertrochanteric femoral 。We sum up experience to improve the clinical level of awareness of this surgical method. Methods: This study included 27 patients chosen from the hospitalized cases in October 2010 to October 2011,we followed up these cases for 5 to 7 months. We recorded patient age, duration of hospitalization, fracture type, surgical blood loss, fluoroscopy times, healing time, preoperative and postoperative Harris hip score, then make a statistical analysis. Results: All patients were clinically cured. The average age of the patients was 77.8 years (range35to 95), the average hospital stay was 16 days(range 5to 31) , the mean operation time was 62.3minutes (range 45to 115) , mean blood loss was 215.6ml (range 150to 350) , the average fluoroscopy number is 6.3 (range5to 8), the postoperative healing time was 16.2 weeks (range12to18), and the average Harris hip function score is 88.2 (range75to95), We got an excellent rate of 92.86%. Conclusion: PFNA has the advantage of the biomechanical characteristics; patients can get the effect of treatment with a higher cure rate. Its simple to operate, and gives less trauma .Fracture is fixed firmly, patients can get early postoperative mobilization with fewer complications, avoid the complications caused by staying in bed, PFNA os
