The Literature Study Of Cupping therapy on Advantage Diseases speciality: Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Massage Author: Meng Xiangyan Tutor: Shan Qiuhua Abstract Objective: This paper summarizes clinical applications of cupping therapy for diseases in past and present, then identifies spectrum diseases for cupping therapy, improves appropriate spectrum of patients with the clinical applications and cupping therapy, to improve further clinical work. Methods: This paper obtains the related literatures from Chinese Medical Classics by taking corner, tube, pot as key words, and from China Knowledge Network by cupping as key word respectively. Select modern literatures from 1980 to 2010. There are two methods in clinic treatment: cupping therapy only and in conjunction with other applications. All methods are classified into eight major diseases families including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, orthopedic and care regimen. Furthermore, the cases are stored into computer to create a database. And then analyzes the data, and draws the appropriate ancient disease spectrum of cupping therapy. According to the previous work, the paper compares present symptoms to past ones, and derives treatment patterns and trends. At the same time, advantages of integrated disease are obtained through the application efficiency and frequency of past and present methods. Results: The ancient literatures searched through Chinese Medical Classics by corner are 20664 times, tube 1920 times and pot 2461 times. Ultimately select 124 of them through the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There are 4494 modern articles through China Knowledge Network by cupping as key word search, finally related 201
