Lead the class through the flow diagram step by step making sure they understand each step and how it relates to the steps around it. Work Id is referred to as a Notification, some places this is a Request for Work. Once Maintenance accepts the Notification or Request it becomes a Work Order. These are assigned a unique identification number or code so they can be more easily tracked. Work has to be prioritized for the planners so they know which one to work on first. Since all work has to be authorized an estimate of the cost has to be prepared. Once authorized the WO gets planned, put in backlog and then scheduled. Once scheduled the mechanics do the work and feed back some record of what they did (if only the time spent). The work order is then marked complete and eventually closed. These are the main record of both equipment failure and repair work so the better they are the more accurate the analysis of it.
