Abstract : Unified st ength theo y is int oduced to conside the influence of inte mediate p incipal st ess, the calculation
fo mula of allowable soil esistance on ancho age section of ant-i slide piles is deduced. Meanwhile, the sem-i analytical and
sem-i nume ical weighted esidual method is used to calculate the equi ed soil esistance on ancho age section of ant-i slide
piles, and a new ational method to dete mine anti- slide ancho age length is put fo wa ded. The p oposed method is applied
to two calculation examples, the dist ibution of equi ed soil esistance on piles and dist ibution of allowable soil esistance
with diffe ent unified st ength pa amete s a e obtained, the ational ancho age length is dete mined by compa ative analysis of
the dist ibution diag ams. The analysis esult also show s that the allowable soil esistance on piles which is gained by unified
st ength theo y inc eases with unified st ength pa amete b.
