Plants supply our food and many of our drinks. We use extracts of plants and plantlike organisms to make plastics, soap, oils, waxes, drugs and so on. Why should we learn botany? We use flowers for decorations, perfumes, and to express our feelings. On the negative side, plants clog our rivers, damage our crops, cause allergies, and poison us. The basic feature of plants Plant cells have walls which help the cell holding a fixed shape; Green plants and some non-green plants use energy from light or inorganic chemical reactions for self-feeding; The basic feature of plants Most plants continually produce new sets of organs as they grow; Plants adapt to environment by changing morphological structure because except for some simple plants most of the plants could not move.
