The wheelchair mainly body is composed of star wheel planetary gear conversion devices, clutch, guide wheels, universal wheels and other components. By changing two states of the clutch, this wheelchair can walk on the flat ground, and also can climb stairs. Drive center will drive the gear planetary gear rotating when the clutch separated and the planet-wheel is under drive mode which can leads a on level ground walking; and when the clutch combined, the central axis and arm lock the planetary gear rotation, there will be a overall flipping driver central axis of the planetary gear train, which will take the initiative to climb obstacles. This time for the star-wheel drive mode applies to climb stairs. At the same time, adding a row of the guide wheels on each side of the universal wheels has enhanced the obstacle-climbing capability of this wheelchair. With summarized up the achievements of previous research in this regard, this design has optimized and improved the climbing stairs wheelchair in some critical parts.
