This thesis firstly introduces the definition and properties of the eigenvalue and eigenvector, and provides the relationship between the eigenvalue and eigenvector of linear transformation in linear space and the eigenvalue and eigenvector of the matrix. Secondly this thesis introduces several methods to find the eigenvalue and eigenvector: the characteristic function method, the dual inverse transform method and the elementary
