Conventional foreign language teaching approach either emphasizes use language on its own purpose or usually aims at achieving native-like language proficiency and results in both impracticality and restriction in China. Because of this, the author elaborates the urgency of introducing new teaching methods to foreign language teaching, especially oral language teaching, and explores the feasibility of bringing simulation games into college oral English teaching. This thesis reviews the definition and features of simulation games from the perspective of constructivism, generalizes features of oral English, reviews the previous studies on simulation games and oral English teaching both at home and abroad, and explores the feasibility of adopting simulation games in college oral English class.
