Lesson 3 Fun Reading and Writing
Ⅰ、Analysis of the Teaching Material:
This class mainly talks about the topic of Seasons and Weather. The words and the sentence patterns are all related to our lives, so it’s very easy to create some context to let students learn the knowledge easier.
Ⅱ、Analysis of the Students:
The students are in Grade 5. They already have some storage of words and sentence patterns, so its easier for the teacher to use the knowledge learned to lead in the new lesson. Also we can do the group works easier.
Ⅲ、Teaching Aims:
Knowledge Aims:
Review the sentence structure: Whats your favorite…? I like…;Why? Because…
Get the main idea of this passage.
Ability Aims:
Ss can read the passage well.
Ss can finish the exercises by themselves.

Step 2: Pre-reading
1. Chant: Green, green, spring is green.Red, red, summer is red.
Yellow, yellow, fall is yellow.White, white, winter is white.
2. Have Ss to make their own chant.
3. Free talk.
T: I like summer the best, because I can wear my beautiful dress. How about you?
4. Pair work: Have Ss work in pairs and discuss their favorite seasons.
