In order to ease the contradiction between Chinas oil resources are scarce and demand, reduce vehicle emissions on the environment pollution as well as people become increasingly demanding performance of the car, so we need to improve the engine - the efficiency of the machine, and variable valve timing technology can improve engine fuel economy and improve the emissions performance of the engine. Therefore, variable valve timing technology gradually peoples attention. This paper is built around a diesel engine variable valve timing technology expansion, about the history of the engine variable valve timing technology, development, and detail the structure and the principle of variable valve technology. GT-power software is the main software simulation now the automotive industry, so this paper, GT-power software to simulate variable valve timing impact of technology on diesel engine performance. ???? Diesel model established by GT-power software, and use existing data to verify the accuracy of the model. Then, based on the original model of diesel engine valve timing to optimize the simulation of the variable valve timing technology. Before and after optimization can be found to improve the performance of diesel engine has been greatly improved after the verified variable valve timing technology can greatly improve the performance of diesel engine.
