Research on Rural Residential Land Consolidation Potential under Food Security Strategy Author: Chen Fei Supervisor: Associate Professor Wang Yinchuan Professor Xu Hao Major: Soil Science Abstract Land is a natural and economic synthesis, and it also is an important resource, assets, production materials and of social production and the carrier of national economic development。China is a country with a large population and the contradiction between people and land is obvious. With the socio-economic development and the process of urbanization continues to accelerate as well as the demand for construction land is increasing, food security issues have become increasingly prominent, in order to ensure the demand for construction land, meanwhile to protect the populations demand for arable land resources, that is, food security issues, we need to develop more land to meet future population demand for food. Because of the rural residential land consolidation plays an important role in the optimization of layout and balance the arable land, it becomes one of the priorities work in land consolidation. In order to better achieve balance of arable land, address the issue of food security t only by finishing the rural residential land consolidation. In this study, it takes the Boye in Hebei Province as example, selects as the study of residential land, points at the rural construction land’s status quo which is layout in disorder and extensive utilization, and bases on the research the theory of sustainable land use to research the rural residential land consolidation.
