So, in most countries, people vote for their desired governors through political election. This is a report on US and UK general election, which gives a brief introduction from four aspects: the procedure, the candidates, the fundraising, and values or ideas behind the general election. The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy. The British parliament is by the composition of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It is the House of Commons that has the rights to vote for policies. People who are in the House of Commons are called MPs (the Member of Parliament). Usually each of them represents a part of the population with a limited term of five years. When we talk about general election, we talk about voting to elect MPs to seats in the House of Common, the lower house of the Parliament. British carry out the First-past-the-post election system.
