毕 业 论 文（设计） 题 目 简评简奥斯汀《爱玛》 指导老师 吕尔欣 专业班级 应用英语111班 姓 名 黄程鑫媛 学 号 20114020111 2014年 5 月20日 摘 要：奥斯汀塑造在塑造了一位聪明能干的女主人公形象，她在小说中十分努力的想要反映出女权主义思想,但遗憾的是,她没有办法去改变自己的时代背景，她始终活在19世纪的阴影里,所以在结局中我们可以看到故事仍显得很俗套,依旧以传统婚姻和平凡家庭生活收场。在当时的人明白到婚姻关系可以提供阶级提升与经济改善的机会之后，财力与社会地位就成了他们决定结婚对象的重要条件。对当时男性的阶级与女性的地位进行探索可助于理清婚姻是怎么样的一回事，而这一有利条件为奥斯汀的小说提供了议题的原因。小说中的女性人物擅于把自己转化成商品只为了达成结婚的目的，她们为了吸引男性目光极力展示自己的外貌与才艺。在这个时期女性利用其女性特质来赢得婚姻伴侣受到社会价值的鼓励。在小说中,作者运用活泼的语言和生动的描写,刻画了一系列经典的人物形象。 关键词：女权主义思想；不幸；婚姻 Abstract: Austin trying to Emma creating the smart heroine to reflect the feminist thought, but unfortunately, the author could not from the background of the 19th century, the story end fall into a rut, still in a traditional marriage and ordinary family life end . The discussions of male class and female status in the end of the eighteenth century are helpful for understanding why marriage is the central topic in Austins novels. In a sense, marriage is regarded as a market place to exchange upward class mobility and financial support for Austins characters. In order to achieve the goal of marriage, females are good at transforming themselves into commodities by displaying their appearances and accomplishments to appeal to male gazers. Women at the time were encouraged by the social value of performing manners of femininity to win husbands.
