Teaching goals 教学目标
1. Target language 目标语言
1 Help Ss to review some important words and phrases in this module.
abandoned, desert, farm, field, soil, scenery, passenger, camel, get on, get off.
2 Help Ss know some culture about The Ghan and Australia.
2. Ability goals 能力目标
At the end of the class, students should be able to master some reading skills while reading and then describe the trip experience in their life.
3. Emotional goals 情感目标
Help Ss set the confidence of facing something unfamiliar bravely.
Teaching important points 教学重点
Help the Ss understand the whole passage and how to describe the first ride experience in their life.
Teaching difficult points 教学难点
Enable the Ss to find the clues of the writer’s first ride on a train and to describe the trip experience in their life.

Asking and answering activity, reading, observing and discussing.

A projector and a computer, blackboard and chalk.

Then show them some pictures and let Ss guess where the author comes from. After it, ask Ss if they want to know more about the author and her first trip. Think and speak. Ask Ss to read the first paragraph to know more about the author and the place where they went.
2. Para 4-6
Ask Ss to read the last three paragraphs to know something about the famous Ghan. Then finish some questions. After that, show them a short and clear cartoon to know the change of transportation again.
3. Para 2 and Para 3
Ask Ss to read the second and the third paragraph and then fill in the blanks. Check the answers. After that, guide Ss to
