Lessen plan interpretation Unit 7 Cultural Relics Reading A City of Heroes PEP Senior English for China My teaching material is People Education Press Senior English for China, Student’s Book 1, Unit 7 Culture Relics, Reading , A City of Heroes. My teaching plan will go as the following 6 steps: Analysis of teaching material, teaching and studying method, teaching aims ,the important and difficult points, teaching Procedure and Blackboard design. ⅠAnalysis of teaching material In this unit, the topic is cultural relics. In this lessen we will learn the reading part, a city of heroes. This lessen is mainly talking about some famous cultural relics in Russia—St Petersburg, which include the information of who built in, what had happened to it, who rebuilt it, and who are the heroes of the city. And to some extent, this part is an important and transaction part of the whole unit. And after reading the text, the students should know some famous culture relics in the world, form a new concept of protecting the cultural relics and suggest some ways to protect our cultural relics. And according to the New English Curriculum, it calls the students to get information from the texts, and use different reading strategies according to different paragraphs. 2. Teaching aims According to the reaching material, I arrange the teaching aims as follows, (1)Knowledge Aims: By the end of the class, students should have known some culture relics in the world. Besides, they could also be able to master the useful phrases such as give in, bring…back to life and so on. (2) Ability aims: By the end of the class, students should have mastered the reading skills of prediction, skimming and scanning to locate the detail information according to the text. (3) Emotion aims: By the end of the class, we will have a discussion on what can we do to protect our culture relics. I hope the students could have a strong will of protecting the culture relics by the discussion. 3. the Importa
