* The most important parts of the AL plate compared to a competitor plate. AL patented distribution pattern: With the distribution pattern we avoid dead zones and we make sure that the whole heat transfer area is used for heat transfer. Dead zones could lead to scaling and fouling. This would increase down time for maintenance, but in the case of sulphuric acid duties it would also increase corrosion problems. If there is no cooling on the water side due to fouling, the acid on the other side of the plate will be very hot and corrosion rate much higher. Hence lifetime of plate would be shorter. AL strong plate pattern: The AL strong plate pattern make an 0.6 plate very stable. With a weak plate pattern, you need reinforcements in gasket groove and neck area. The reinforcements in the gasket groove makes the gasket fall off much more easily as there is no flat surface for the fastening. AL single step pressing: With the single step pressing, every part of the plate is only pressed once. With multi step pressing, there is a risk that some parts of the plate is pressed more than once and hence become much thinner. This is of course a big disadvantage in acid duties where the corrosion rate is quite high. Furthermore, multi step pressing causes by-pass channels in the plate thereby reducing the thermal efficiency of the overall unit. * Main features of the AL frame compared to competitors 5-point alignment: With the AL 5-point alignment system it is very easy to open and reassemble the unit again. The plates will automatically be steered into the right direction. If the plates are steered only by means of the gaskets, reassembling of the unit will be very difficult as the gaskets are changed with age and with chemical attack both from outside (oxygen) and inside (acid).
