three-colour/tri-colour glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty 唐三彩 A type of glazed(上过釉的 ) pottery(陶器 ) with the dominant colors of yellow, brown and green was very popular in the Tang Dynasty. It was later called the tri-colored glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty, or tangsancai. Tri-colored glazed pottery utensils (器皿 )of the Tang Dynasty were usually rounded and full in shape, in accordance with the aesthetic values of the time. The accurately proportioned human and animal figures have fluid lines, natural expressions and life-like movements. The soldier figure shave strong muscles, big staring eyes and swords or arrows in their hands. The woman figures have high hair buns and full sleeves; they stand gracefully erect, looking natural and elegant. The animal figures are mainly horses and camels. Chinese Porcelain Porcelain, is highly valued for its beauty and strength. It is often called china, or chinaware, because it was first made in China. The Chinese probably made the first true porcelain during the Tang dynasty (618-907). During the Song dynasty (960-1279), Chinese emperors started royal factories to produce porcelain for their palaces. Since the 1300s, most Chinese porcelain has been made in the city of Jingdezhen. For centuries, the Chinese made the world‘s finest porcelain. Collectors regard many porcelain bowls and vases produced during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing dynasty (1644-1912) as artistic treasures. Porcelain makers perfected a famous blue and white underglazed procelain(青花瓷) during the Ming period. During the Qing period, the Chinese developed a great variety of patterns and colors and exported porcelain objects to Europe in increasing numbers.
