Abstracl Abstract In the 2 1 st century,in order to obtain information，people’S lives are more or less dependenton the media environment,SO that it is a fact that their own daily activities are subject to all kinds of media．As we know hi曲school students are the future and talent reserves of the motherland，and they are also the backbone force of the information society．The influence of the media on high school students has become very profound，because it is the most efficient，convenient and effective way to get sports information by the mass media．As the influence of the mass media on young people’S daily life and sports behavior becomes larger and larger,the schools have to consider how to use the mass media to promote sports education，how to break through the classroom routine to train students’active sports values with the power of the sports media information． We characterized the sports media in depth from many aspects by investigating literatures and consulting experts，and described the positive and negative effects of sports media on Nanjing high school students with the questionnaire surveys of 350 senior high school students form 6 Nanjing middle schools．Moreover,the results were discussed by mathematical statistics and logical reasoning，and then the conclusion and scientific solutions were obtained to improve and perfect the sports media communication and high school sports education in China． The conclusions are obtained initially as follows： 1．High school students in Nanjing higher frequency focus on medium sports information．The vast majority of high school students in contact with all kinds of media focus media sports information actively． 2．The overall sports values of high school students in Nanjing is more positive， but for the understanding of the various dimensions evaluation also exist certain differences． 3．The correlations between Media contact frequency and sports values of high school students in Nanjing are confirmed，always contact with media
