Abstract
With the rapid development of Chinese economy and the continul improvement of
international statue,an increasing number of people all around the world are enthusiastic
about learning mandarin. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and our
country, the international Chinese education, which regards Hanban as the main leader and
treats the schools at various levels and educational institutions as the main power, can be
developed in full swing. The Chinese classes, as the carrier of attractive Chinese language
and culture, are showing up in the classrooms all over the world.
The modern Chinese educational history of Indonesia began in the Chinese Guildhall
School,which was established in 1901.The development of the Chinese education in
Indonesia has gone through four periods as the following parts, the initial development
period (1901-1957), the period from prosperity to decline (1957-1967), the period from
weakness to complete blockcade (1967-1998) and the recovery period (1998 to present). The
waving development makes the present situation of Chinese education in Indonesia different
from that in other countries.
Jakarta, as the capital of Indonesia, is the political, economical and cultural center in
the whole country. Therefore, the Chinese education development in Jakarta is the more

representative than that in other cities in Indonesia. After studying the results of previous
studies carefully, based on the research results, the author chooses the Universitas Bunda
Mulia in Jakarta as the research case. This paper mainly uses the methods of literature
research and questionnaire study in order to summarize the current teaching situation of the
Chinese department in this university, find the main teaching problems a
