Unit 6 Natural Disasters教案
牛津初中英语8A Uint6 Natural disasters Reading 1 教案Ⅰ. About teaching material
本课是第六单元的第二课时,即阅读版块的第一课时,主要通过听、说、读等方式让学生了解台湾地震,引导学生以正确的心态去面对自然灾害,并学会一些有效的自救和逃生方式。
阅读版块是一个单元中语言输入较为集中的环节,一般用2至3个课时完成。本节课是阅读的第一课时,主要围绕课文内容展开相关活动。要求学生通过第一课时的导入学习,能说出文章大意,归纳细节内容。因此,我在设计这节课时,在每一环节设计了一些简易的任务,帮助学生逐步加深对文章的理解。
Ⅱ. About students
在本单元的第一课时中,学生已学习了天气及自然灾害的相关内容,说明学生头脑里已经构建了有关自然灾害的词汇,为进一步谈论台湾地震这一话题奠定了基础。本课时是本单元的阅读部分即第二课时,学生在这堂课上既可以巩固前面所学的语言知识,又可以通过充分的读和说进一步发展语言运用能力,为后面main task中的写作任务打下伏笔。

1. Knowledge objective
To let the students learn something about the Taiwan earthquake.
To let the students grasp the new words and phrases about earthquake.
2. Ability objective
Enable the students to learn to protect themselves in the natural disasters.
Enable the students to improve their skills of listening, reading and speaking.

To let the students have a sense of protecting themselves and others in the natural disasters
To form good relationship of cooperation between students or teachers and students through group activities

Step 1 Revision [7 min]
Play a guessing game to review the words of disasters that the students have learnt in the previous class.
T: There are four magical bags here. You can choose anyone of them to open. In each bag, there is a word of disaster that we’ve learnt yesterday. And there are four hints in each to help you guess what it is.
Step 2 Lead in [9 min]
1. 4 min Ask students a question: When Wenchuan earthquake happened, what did you see?
Show some related pictures and describe them together with students. Lead students to finish some sentences:
Saw the houses shaking .
Saw the buildings come down .
Saw some people running wildly
