GUIDE TO COMPLETION OF INTRODUCTORY LEAFLET2002 Chief Executive ElectionPurpose of the introductory leafletThe Registration and Electoral Office will prepare a colour introductory leaflet on candidates. It will be sent to members of the Election Committee together with the poll card near the polling day. An enlarged copy of the leaflet will be displayed outside the polling station for ease of reference by members of the Election Committee.Contents of the introductory leafletThe leaflet will contain the number allocated to each candidate as shown on the ballot paper, the name, age, occupation and a colored photograph of each candidate, together with a message provided by the candidate on his or her background and election platform.How to complete the grid paperPut your message inside the blue frame on the grid paper under the caption “Election Platform”. Your message may be in Chinese, English, or both, and there is no restriction on the number of words, illustrations and colour. You should be mindful of the fact that some members of the Election Committee may wish to read Chinese only, while some may prefer English. They are equally entitled to be informed of your platform.Your message should be typed, printed by computer, or written clearly with a FINE ball pen. Please make sure that the contents of your platform do not spill over the blue frame, as anything outside the frame will NOT be printed.Fill in your name and occupation in both English and Chinese, and your age in Arabic numerals.Make a photocopy of the grid paper after completion, and sign and date both the original and copy.Please fill in the grid paper carefully as it will be directly reproduced as the introductory leaflet.Submission of the grid paperPlease submit the grid paper to the Returning Officer when you submit your nomination form on or before 28 February 2002.In addition to the passport size colour photograph stuck on the grid paper which should show the candidate in full face, please enc
