Specifications for the Writing Test
Test Purpose
The writing test is an achievement test designed to assess students’ progress on the writing course at the end of the term.
Test Domain
Theoretical construct:
Students’ ability to writing as required in the teaching syllabus
Operations:
be able to spell words correctly:
be able to use proper punctuation and capitalization
be able to write correct and appropriate sentences according to rules of grammar
be able to order relevant information logically
3.Text Takers :
Grade 6 students in primary school who have taken this course. Both male and female students.
4 .Text Content:
Text types: multiple choice, filling with proper form, choose proper sentence, cloze ,arrangement, continue writing, writing according to the picture
Focus: Text tasks or items should focus on checking students ability in vocabulary, grammar and short sentence writing
5.Text Method:
Discrete梡oint test and integrative test are used in combination with emphasis on the latter
