Good morning, ladies and gentleman. I am Williams from Taoyuan No. 1 high school. I’m going to talk about Unit one Getting along with others, Reading part from Advance with English for China senior students Module Five. Firstly, I want to analyze the teaching material. The text contains two letters, which is about getting along with others. The titles of the two letters are Secrets and Lies and A Friendship in trouble. The reading part plays an important role in this unit. First, it is a good material to train my students’ reading ability of understanding feelings. Second, it is a good material to let my student think about how to get along with others. Thirdly, there are many important new words and phrases in the text, which should be mastered by my students. According to the teaching material, I made three Teaching objectives. Knowledge aims: To Enable the students to know more about the new words and phrases. Ability aims: To develop the students reading ability of reading to understand feelings. Emotional aims: To let the students to form a positive attitude towards how to get along with others. Teaching important points: Help the students to understand the passage better. Help the students to know how to read to understand feelings. Teaching difficult points: Help the students finish all the exercises and tasks using the reading strategy in reading. Secondly, I’d like to analyze my students and teaching learning methods. First, About my students: My students are in grade two, in their minds, they are eager to know about the world. They are high school students and have laid a solid language foundation, but they still need to do more excises to train themselves to grasp the reading abilities such as reading to understand the feelings, because these reading skills are very important for the future language studying.
