Therefore, it is the content rather than the form or language style of the source text that should be of top priority. Therefore, the translation adopted is acceptability, which is based on the Norm Theory by Gideon Toury. The instructions for products are responsible for giving readers the information about the features, specification, operation and maintenance process of the product as well as guiding the readers to find solutions to the problems within the shortest time. Different from other informative type articles, the instructions for products enjoy distinct format and relatively fixed expressions. Therefore, during the process of translation the adjustments should be made to achieve the format meeting the norms of target language.
