The proposed power plant site is located at about 25km South of Cuddalore and about 5 km north of Porto Novo. The Land proposed falls in villages Kottattai, Ariyaghoshti Villiayannalur and Silambimangalam and bounded by Parangipettai on the south side. The proposed marine facilities for the power plant will be built on the coast adjoining the power plant. The site is accessible by well developed roads. Railway lines are also located adjacent to the western side of site boundary. The town of Cuddalore has all infrastructural facilities and has number of Industries. Cuddalore is well connected by both state highways, National highways and has direct rail link with Chennai. National Highway NH-45A (Villupuram-Puducherry-Cuddalore-Chidambaram-Nagapattinam Highway) passes through Cuddalore.
