§101. Guidelines of the Program
A. As required by R.S. 17:391.2 et seq., all local educational agencies (LEAs) in Louisiana developed accountability plans to fulfill the requirements as set forth by the laws. Specifically, Act 621 of 1977 established school accountability programs for all certified and other professional personnel. Act 9 of 1977 established a statewide system of evaluation for teachers and principals. Act 605 of 1980 gave the Louisiana Department of Education (LDE) the authority to monitor the LEAs personnel evaluation programs. Act 54 of 2010 requires that measures of student growth be incorporated into teachers’ and administrators’ evaluations and represent 50 percent of their final rating.
