Ask the students the questions: What country are you in? What language do we speak? Have you been abroad? Has anyone in your family been abroad? Where has he been? When? Step2. Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”. What’s your favourite subject? What is geography? Do you like geography? Step3. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions: Has Danny been abroad? What language do they speak in Japan? How long has Brain’s father been in Africa? Where’s Jenny’s mother’ pen pal from? Step4. Read and check the answers. Read the text in roles. Let some students act the dialogue out. Step5. Discuss the details in groups. Where would Danny love to go? What countries has Brian been to? Does Danny speak Chinese? Where is Brian from? Can you explain the meaning of “pen pal”? Step6. Come to “LET’S DO IT”. Talk about the countries that you have visited. If you haven’t visited, what country would you like to visit? Why? Give a report to your class. Step7. Homework Finish off the exercises in the activity book. Go on the next reading in the student book.
