一、教学内容与解析
本节课要让学生学习有关吸烟的词汇,同时读懂一位爷爷写给孙子的信。“阅读”部分一位爷爷写给孙子的信,信中82岁的爷爷之所以长寿完全得益与他健康的生活方式。爷爷年轻的时候也抽烟上瘾,爷爷以自己的亲身经历来劝诫孙子戒烟。通过学习本文,学生可以就吸烟这个问题发表自己的观点。
教学目标

Words and expressions;

三、问题诊断与分析
在本节课的教学中,学生可能遇到的问题学生可能已经掌握了一些有关吸烟的词汇,但不知如何表达自己的观点。本节课就是要解决这个问题。
四、教学条件支持分析
本节课为了让学生通过自主学习和合作学习获得知识,用不分散学生注意力的多媒体教学手段加上黑板的使用来突破本课的重难点。
五、教学过程设计
Warming up
This step is to lead the students to the topic of this unit ―― A healthy life
I Questions:
1. What health issues do you think concern young people the most?
(After about 3 minutes)
A sample list:
Cigarette smoking Drinking alcohol Drug taking Diet Physical fitness
Sexual health Stress AIDS and infections Cancer Anxiety and so on
2. What’s a healthy life?
(After discussion)
Possible answer:
To be sure healthy, a person must be well in mind, body and spirit.
II Show some pictures on the screen
Directions:
Looking at the following pictures. What are they doing ?Which are healthy activities while which are unhealthy activities?
(Ask the students to describe the pictures using their own words)
Straightforward description:
III Discussion
Devide students in groups and ask them to choose one health issue they think is particularly important. List five things they would like to tell other people about this issue.
设计意图:通过上述图片或影片的介绍,使学生对这两个短文有了一定的了解,引起学习短文的兴趣。而且还可以很自然的导入到本节课的内容。
