Response: Mary needn’t have gone to the station so early. 3. He may/ might have gone without you. may/ might + perfect infinitive: indicate speculations about the past actions. e.g. Where is Susan? I want to go to the canteen with her. Response: She may/ might have gone there already . 4(a).
