Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) Interactions ADR Incidence and Mechanisms ADR are a large problem: ~ 5% of hospital admissions are as a result of an ADR. Once in hospital, the scope for ADR increases dramatically. The mechanisms involved may vary widely, but involves: interaction with receptor or enzymes (pharmacological?) alteration of structural proteins, DNA or Lipids (chemical) Reaction with the target molecule.
