Content analysis: This reading text is a popular science article about life.in the future. The teaching material provides students with a space for imagination, which aims at cultivating students ability to predict the future arousing students’ care for the environment. Ⅱ. Teaching objectives: 1. The students will be able to to talk about the life in the past, at present and in the future. 2. The students will be able to learn to read the text, using such strategies as skimming scanning predicting and summarizing. 3. The students will be able to have a better understanding of the text. 4. The students will be able to understand and use some important words and expressions. Ⅲ. Teaching focus: 1. To use different strategies to understanding the text. 2. To tell the advantages and disadvantages of inventions of the 31st century.
