Module 3 The Violence of Nature Tornadoes and Hurricanes (授课教师：三亚市第一中学 曾少珍) 教案设计 Introduction: This is a development (拓展) lesson focusing on training the Ss’ speaking skill . Before this lesson, the Ss have learned two passages about tornadoes and hurricanes. 1. Teaching aims: Knowledge and ability aims : To help the Ss revise and use the language they have learned about the topic in this Module to talk about a natural disaster and the violence of nature. Moral aims: To help them be aware of the harm a natural disaster can do to human beings and then arouse their resolution to fight against the natural disasters and benefit the whole mankind. 2.Important points and difficult points: To help the Ss to develop the ability of describing a natural disaster and the violence of nature using the language they have learned in the two previous texts about tornadoes and hurricanes. 3.Teaching aids: multi-media 4. Assignment: Writing and talking about a natural disaster. Teaching Procedure Step 1. Revision and lead-in（5 mins） (1).Get the Ss to watch a short video about a tornado and then describe it with the help of the following questions and key words: Qs: What is a tornado? How is it? What can it do? What can it cause?
