Purpose 1. To issue amendments to PSO 4950 on Regimes for Juveniles following advice from Juvenile Operational Management Group which states that all establishments should offer at least 3 units from the Social and Life Skills programme. One of these units must now be Sex and Relationships Education. Performance Standards 2. The relevant performance standard is the Education standard. Output 3. PSO 4950 to be amended, ensuring that prisoners are offered the opportunity to take the Social and Life Skills Sex and Relationships unit. Impact Resources Assessment 4. Governing Governors will need to amend the teaching order to reflect the new requirement. This may entail changing the composition of the Social and Life Skills units ordered. 5. The amendment keeps the policy as outlined in PSO 4205 consistent. Mandatory Action 6. The attached amendments must be made to PSO 4950 by replacing the relevant page. 7. The attention of all staff involved in the management of Prison Education must be drawn to the changes. Audit and Monitoring 8. The relevant baselines for Standards Audit will be amended; the Standard will be slightly amended to reflect the new situation. CHAPTER 8.3 - EDUCATION.
