Teaching aims and demands Of knowledge ①Master some useful words expressions:compete host athlete gold medal torch shooting Greece competitor motto further rank gymnastics prepare effect position superstar weigh stand for because of would rather take part every four years/ every fourth year ②Enable the Ss to talk about some sports , some famous sport stars.and the Olympic Games. ③Get the Ss to understand some difficult sentences ,such as: Emphasis, Inversion, the attributive clauses. Of ability ①Cultivate the Ss’ Self-directed Study ability the Cooperative Learning ability. ②Develop the Ss’ reading skills. Of emotions Encourage the Ss to love sports and make them know the importance between competition and friendship in the world. Teaching focus ①To learn some basic knowledge about the Olympic Games ②Focus on talking about sports and the Olympic Games. Teaching difficult points ① Understand some difficult sentences ,such as Emphasis, Inversion, the attributive clauses. ② Cultivate the Ss’ Self-directed Learning ability the Cooperative Learning ability. Teaching Learning methods ① Task-based Teaching (任务型教学) ② Self-directed Study (自主学习) ③ Dynamic group learning (互动式小组协作)

Group work Task 1 Have the Ss to talk about some sports and some famous sport stars. At the same time T will display some relevant pictures. And this is a good chance to present and learn new words.

Q2. Which sport is he /she good at? to help Ss master as many new words about sports as possible
