With the development of reinforced earth technology, the forms of reinforced earth retaining walls began to diversify, however the understanding for mechanism of the structure is not still mature yet ,which influences the applications and popularize of reinforced earth retaining walls. It was summarized that the research progress on reinforced earth retaining walls combination the research trends both at home and abroad, the development trends and prospects of this field are proposed and analyzed. This paper makes analysis on the structure composition and applicable range of retaining wall references the current national standards(Code for design on retaining structures of railway subgrade), introducing the main designing method and the construction technology systematically.
