1. We can do anything we want to do if we stick to it long enough. Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. 2. When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another. 10. When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. 8. Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature... 9. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. By the time she was seven years old, she still couldn’t speak, read or write. Look at the title----Life stories, b. look at the pictures c. Read the following sentences: Helen Keller was a very special girl who needed a superb teacher. Before reading, look at the title, pictures and the first couples of lines of the text. Look for clues to help you predict what kind of text it is and what it is about. Read the text to get the general idea. Ignore words you don’t know. Read the text again. Try to work out the meaning of important new words. Use a dictionary if you can’t.
