It also assists you in developing skills in analyzing the research work of others - examines the research function in knowledge creation. Emphasis is placed on how to design, conduct experimental research and analyze experimental data. This course will focus on experimental methods to management and related fields and provide the student with the basic skills needed to conduct experimental research in the field of management, economics, finance and accounting. General concepts in statistics will be reviewed. Various techniques in experimental research will be explored, including designing, analyzing and interpreting research results. Those who successfully complete the course will be able to: understand the various tasks required to carry out experimental research understand the importance of manipulation and/or measurement of variables as they relate to theory and practice. understand the concepts of covariation, correlation, causality and chance develop a healthy scepticism (identify strengths and weaknesses) regarding the interpretation of research results (whether it is of economic/policy/statistical significance) and to suggest management action based on research findings find the literature resources needed to guide through one’s own research process produce a well developed research proposal select an appropriate methodology with respect to which to conduct the research and defend the methodology of their selection Textbook and Other Learning Materials Text
